✦ I like many aspects of nature, but it doesn’t always love me back the same. Because okay… the Nagai Botanical Gardens were so so beautiful! BUT my ankles got bit by several EVIL bugs. I am so happy I chose to spend my day off wandering around there. It cost 300 yen to enter. My ankles are itchy as I am typing this blog post.

These purple flowers were my favorite.

and look at this cute (not little) heart.
⟢ I was imagining the concept of a sword dangling from the middle of the heart during a wedding ceremony. Wouldn’t that be so romantic?~

The color of these… ahh!!
⟢ Though it was too late to see some of the other varieties of flowers, the rose gardens were in full bloom when I visited. It was humid and felt as if it was pre-thunderstorm weather. Nostalgic! Despite the title of this post, it didn’t end up storming, though.

oh-so-frizzy, thanks to the humidity.

After the botanical gardens, I stumbled upon a LIFE where I bought ingredients to make at-home hot pot. (It was an attempt to recreate a hot pot recipe I saw on Instagram).
⟢ Base: Korean-style beef stock, chicken bouillon, spicy Shin ramyeon flavor packet
⟢ Toppings: bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, cabbage, thin-sliced carrots, shabu-shabu style thin-sliced brisket
⟢ & “Marony” glass noodles.
The noodles did not absorb as much of the flavor as I would’ve liked and I overcooked the brisket. Better luck next time!

Big News to my Three Readers
❁ I successfully SIGNED THE CONTRACT FOR A NEW (non short term) APARTMENT! I am moving on June 6th, to a very nice area near a beautiful park and shrine, and a five minute walk to the nearest station. And I am proud of myself for somehow navigating it all, even with my lackluster, barely passable Japanese skills!
❁ I am still residing in short term housing right now. It is a great place, aside from the fact it’s a bit pricey, and the constant barrage of sirens. (I live just 200 meters from a fire station on a busy main road). I truly didn’t anticipate being rejected by so many apartments, as they didn’t want to house “a foreigner.” But that’s all over with, now!
⟢ ⟢ ⟢ So, I’ll be enjoying my last two weeks in Nishinari, and be saying hello to Tennoji Ward soon.
Remaining Thoughts
❁ I started playing Tomodachi Life on my friend’s Switch last week. We created our OCs… and let the chaos/fun begin! I am seriously regretting not bringing my Switch to Japan. I hope my sister can make use of it, or something.
❁ A selfie exists of me on the phone of a random, very drunk 50-something-year-old Hanshin Tigers fan (who was impressed I could speak Japanese). I look rough after a full shift of work. I hope he doesn’t post it. Him and his friend were funny to talk to, though. He also asked if I had a Japanese boyfriend. No I do not.
❁ An old man at the bank said “I have no legs” (in Japanese) as a joke because I’m so tall. Haha~! I’m only 174cm… but he was a fair bit shorter than me?
❁ Went to the darker, underside of Nishinari this week. That deserves a blog post of its own. I would end up ranting here.

✦ ALSO I WANT NICOLE in Genshin. I am 30 pity in on a guarantee. She is so beautiful, what an angel (literally). I think if I was a character in the game… my overall energy would be a lot like hers. I would want a hydro vision but would probably get pyro, at least according to my friends and that one quiz I took in Miliastra Wonderland.
✦ But whyyyy oh whyyy did they make Sandrone’s skirt so short?? They butchered her design and I am mad… I don’t think either I or Liv want her anymore, and we most certainly planned on pulling before!
✦ That’s all for now…! it is thirty minutes past midnight and it’s a clopening day for me. Oops. I am still in my work outfit, and am going to change into my cute new floral PJ set I got.
Iristarz Out.
