I just moved to Osaka, Japan on March 2nd! I’m living in a short-term place in Nishinari ward for a few months while apartment hunting. I’m teaching myself HTML to make a proper blog, and can’t wait to share lots of little tidbits about life and my adventures! (we can call them side quests, for now). a few things I’m doing lately include…
✦ making new friends and meeting up with old ones!
⟡ training at work (6 days in a row with 1 day off) ;w;
✦ watching the one piece live action (on episode 2. robin is so cool…)
⟡ scrapbook journaling (bought new stickers from LOFT). and a planner i’ll try to remember to use.
✦ eating lots of noodles (knife-cut, ramen)
⟡ going to many cafes.
Apparently Nishinari has a bad reputation. Every Japanese person reacts with a “Ehhh, kowai! (scary).” I reply saying it’s not as bad as they think.
Even a few non-Japanese coworkers reacted in shock and found it insane I would choose to live here. Compared to the U.S., it feels incredibly safe, and I’m a 5 minute walk from the station which can’t be beat. And after all, it’s only temporary!
That’s all for now! thanks for tuning in!
